Sacrifice and Love

Those who love God with all their hearts, mind and strength may be required to sacrifice much.

Joseph Smith taught that one who offers "in sacrifice all that he has for the truth's sake, not even witholding his life" is in a position to know that his life choices are pleasing to God.

With much sacrifice, even a broken heart and contrite spirit, comes great faith...in God, in Christ, even confidence in His presence.

It is confidence in God and Christ... and in His power... to make us into creatures far beyond the reach of our own making...that is key in our process of becoming like Him.

Thus, our only requirement is to love God with singleness of heart and mind and strength.

How?

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me." (John 14:21)
